Marketing for retail and e-commerce
Customers browse online before they visit or buy. We make your store, website and social tell the same story, and track every sale back to where it started.
Shoppers browse online before they visit a store or buy, and they expect your site, your socials and your shelves to tell the same story. We build and improve online stores, run product ads, set up the emails that bring buyers back, and report sales by where they started. This page is for independent shops, boutiques, food and product brands, and e-commerce sellers across Canada.
How it works
- 1
Audit your store and your tracking
We check your site, product pages, speed, checkout, ad accounts and how sales are tracked. Takes 1-2 weeks.
- 2
Plan products, channels and priorities
Decide which products to push, which channels to use first and what to fix before spending on ads.
- 3
Build or improve the store
Shopify or WooCommerce, with clear product pages and simple checkout, nothing live without your approval. Typically 4-8 weeks.
- 4
Launch ads and email flows
Product campaigns, cart reminders, welcome and post-purchase emails, with consent for email and text.
- 5
Report monthly
One report on sales by channel and a short call about what to do next.
What usually gets in the way
- Online store separate from in-store stock
- Abandoned carts never followed up
- Ads that don't track to sales
What we do about it
Online stores
Shopify or WooCommerce, built to sell.
Product ads
Google Shopping and Meta product campaigns.
Email flows

Sales reporting

The number we watch: online and in-store sales.
How do I get more online sales for my Canadian shop or brand?
Start with a store that makes buying easy, then send the right people to it. Ads sent to a confusing site waste money, so we fix the page before we turn the spend up.
- Clear product titles, photos and descriptions
- Fast pages that work on a phone
- Simple checkout with the payment and shipping options Canadians expect
- Tracking that ties each sale to the ad, email or search that started it
See website design and build and paid advertising.
The first thing we usually look at is whether your sales can even be traced. If the ad account, the store and analytics aren't connected properly, you can't tell what's working, so we set up Google Analytics 4 and your store tracking before we scale anything.
Should I use Shopify or WooCommerce for my Canadian store?
Shopify is the easier choice for most shops, and WooCommerce suits businesses already on WordPress or needing custom control. We build on either and recommend one after seeing your products and how you work.
- Shopify: hosted, quick to launch, large app ecosystem, monthly fees
- WooCommerce: more flexible, runs on your WordPress site, more upkeep
- Moving from another platform: we move products, customers and order history and keep your search rankings with redirects
Either way, the store and domain are in your name.
What do shoppers search for and how do they choose?
They search for a product or a use, and compare a few options on price, photos, reviews and shipping. We write your pages for those moments.
- 'Gift for a coffee lover' or 'handmade soap Canada'
- 'Winter boots Vancouver' or 'clothing store near me'
- 'Buy [your product type] online Canada'
- 'Shop open Sunday' or 'local pickup'
Google Shopping, Meta product ads and Google Maps each catch a different kind of shopper, and we choose based on what you sell.
We also check how your products read on a phone, because most browsing happens there. If a shopper can't see price, size, shipping and returns without hunting, they leave, and no ad can fix that for you.
What does e-commerce and retail marketing include?
We connect the store, the traffic and the follow-up, and report on all of it. For a brand website we've built, see the Gemini D Wave product-catalogue site on our work page.
- Online store build or improvement
- Google Shopping and Meta product campaigns, with the product feed set up properly
- Email flows for abandoned carts, welcome and post-purchase, in Mailchimp or similar, with CASL consent
- Social content that shows product in use
- Google Business Profile and local ads to bring people into a physical store
- One monthly revenue report by channel
Which service to start with depends on where you are stuck. A shop with a dated website usually starts with the store. A shop with a good store and no traffic usually starts with product ads and search. A shop with plenty of first orders and few repeat buyers starts with email.
How much does e-commerce marketing cost in Canada?
The cost depends on your product count, platform and channels, and we give a fixed written quote after a free 30-minute call. We don't quote before we've seen the store.
- Store builds, migrations and feed setup are fixed-scope projects
- Ads, email and social are monthly and month-to-month with 30 days' notice
- Ad spend is paid by you directly to Google or Meta
- Everything, from your Shopify account to ad accounts and email lists, is in your name
If you also sell in a physical shop, we plan the online and in-store sides together, so a promotion, a new arrival or a local event reaches both kinds of customer at the same time.
How long until an online store sees results?
Ads and email flows can bring sales within weeks once the store is ready, while search rankings usually take 3-6 months. Fixing a slow or confusing checkout often helps right away.
We don't promise figures. The report shows sales by channel, so you can see what's earning its place. Nothing goes live without your approval, and we track sales honestly, including the ones that came from somewhere other than our ads. Read how to choose a digital marketing agency for questions to ask any agency.
Seasonal peaks matter in retail, so we plan back from the date. Starting a couple of months before a busy season gives time to fix the store, test ads at a small scale and get email flows running before the rush.
Common questions
Can you move our store to Shopify?
Yes. We move products, customers and order history, and keep your search rankings with proper redirects.
Do you help with in-store traffic?
Yes, through Google Maps, local ads, events and email, so your physical shop gets as much attention as your online store.
Do you set up Google Shopping?
Yes. We set up the product feed, fix errors and build the campaigns, and the ad account is in your name.
Can you connect stock between our shop and website?
Often, using your point-of-sale system's own integration or Zapier or Make. We check this on the first call.
What are abandoned cart emails?
Short emails to shoppers who left items behind. We write them for you to approve, and only send to people who agreed to hear from you.
Do you take product photos?
Yes, on site across the Lower Mainland, and we can plan lifestyle and product shots together.
Can you run ads on Meta and Google together?
Yes. We split spend based on what sells, and the monthly report shows which channel earns its keep.
